At Chao, we believe that great food tells a story—one filled with bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and a little bit of adventure. For the past 10 years, we’ve been serving up authentic Vietnamese street food right here in Indiana, inspired by the bustling markets and vibrant street stalls of Hanoi and all over Vietnam.
Our journey started with a simple craving: a really good banh mi. When our founder couldn’t find one that hit the spot, she decided to bring the flavors of her childhood to Indiana, creating a place where healthy, fast, and delicious Vietnamese food is always on the menu.

We’re all about tradition, crafting classic dishes like pho, bun, and banh mi using fresh, local ingredients whenever we can. We proudly source from farms like Fischer Farms and other local suppliers to ensure every bite is packed with quality and flavor.

But we also love to mix things up! While tradition is our foundation, we’re not afraid to have a little fun—blending flavors from French, Mexican, Chinese, and other cuisines to create unique fusion dishes that keep things exciting.
So whether you’re here for a taste of nostalgia or ready to try something new, we’re here to serve up the best of Vietnamese street food—fast, fresh, and full of flavor.
